National Academy of Direct Taxes, Regional Campus, Chandigarh is a premier Training Institute in the matter of Direct Taxes with its five Ministerial Staff Training Institutes stationed at Panchkula, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala and Shimla. The National Academy of Direct Taxes, Regional Campus, Chandigarh (earlier known as Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute) came into existence vide notification dated 08.02.2022 of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi.The Academy was created to meet the training needs of officers and officials working under the administrative control of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, North West Region, Chandigarh. The Academypromotes good governance and capacity building by providing quality training towards building professional and responsive Officers/officials in a caring, ethical and transparent framework.
Training programs at the Academy are designed and developed on basis of the training needs and assessments done from time to time. Various Committees have been constituted time to time to review, evaluate and recommend measures for improvement of the training curricula – from entry level to the highest level of seniority.
The Guest Faculty comprises of chosen practitioners from across India with distinctive professional accomplishments, leading academics and eminent visitors.
Besides, the Academy constantly refines and recalibrates the inputs given to participants of each course based on deliberations with officers/officials, domain experts, as well as concurrent feedback from the participants and the detailed debriefing sessions held with the participants at the end of each course.
Organizational Structure:
The NADT,RC, Chandigarh is headed by the Additional Director General who is of the rank of Joint Secretary to the Government of India. There are two Additional Directors/ Joint Directors, two officers of the rank of Deputy Directors/ Assistant Director and four officers in the rank of ITOs for serving the training needs of the trainees.There are five Ministerial Staff Training Units (MSTUs), stationed at Panchkula, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala and Shimla headed by an Income Tax Officer Group B, function under the supervision of NADT,RC, Chandigarh.
